Here at the Cafe Martin Auer Schillerhof at Schillerplatz in the Herz-Jesu-Viertel of Graz – many consider as the second center of Graz around the Herz-Jesu-Kirche (Church of the Sacred Heart of Jesus) which is lighted at night and quite interesting architecturally – it is really comfortable to meet friends, to have a chat or simply to work on your devices with some plugs in the wall. For whatever reason you come to this place here, you are given the time you need, so you will have a very relaxing and comfortable time.
This Cafe Martin Auer at Schillerplatz (named after the famous German poet, philosopher and playwright) is integrated in a well restored palais more than 100 years old and therefore this cafe is light, bright and features high ceilings and come with a sort of splendor. The music played here is decent, so ideal for having chats or do concentrated work. The seating is comfy with even a sofa in one part. The staff is nice and gives you the time you need and the food ranges from prepared sandwiches to a variety of typical Austrian pastries, cakes, tarts, and breads. Together with the variety of coffees and juices it is a very good combination. Like in all shops of the Martin Auer Cafe and Bakery chain located all across Graz you can choose from all kind of breakfasts and snacks, and they serve even focaccia here. You even can have a seat in the large guest garden, a patio with some trees, or you have a seat at the wall of the cafe in some beach chairs.
I had a Verlängerter with milk, a typical Austrian coffee, and a Nusskrone (literally: Nut Crown), a popular pastry in Austria filled with nut cream. This is served on one of the many stylish copper tables you have a seat.

The Bottom Line: The Martin Auer Schillerhof, located at Schillerplatz corner Plüddemanngasse 2, 8010 Graz, is a great place to stay for a while, enjoying the delights of the Austrian Pastry World and drink a coffee while relax having a chat or use your device.
