The Safran, is a great Persian Restaurant and Cafe at the riverside of the River Mur between the river and the castle hill of Graz, the Schlossberg. From here you are only some steps away from the funicular railroad bringing you on the hilltop of the Schlossberg. The waiters are nice and the food is delicious here at this Persian restaurant called after a typical oriental spice. In prior centuries safran and other delicious spices even were used as precious commodity similar to money. The dish we had here at the Safran was chicken with barberry rice, also called Djudjeh which is together with the Zereshk Polo ba Morgh a popular dish in traditional Persian cuisine.
