The Citybeach Graz – The Great Beachbar at the River to Enjoy the Summertime

The Citybeach Graz is a really nice opportunity to enjoy the summertime in Graz, since it is located right at the River Mur in the heart of the UNESCO-listed Old Town. This place has great beach chairs and even a comfy sofa bench, positioned on a little terrace, partly in the shade, partly in the sun. It’s up to you to decide.

So sitting at the river bank of the River Mur, splitting Graz in two equal sides, this feature makes the Citybeach Graz a special place, where you can hear literally the loud sound of the rushing river next to you. From a certain angle you even see the Kunsthaus Graz, the so-called Friendly Alien.

Here at the Citybeach you can order various things, ranging from drinks and cocktails, alcohol-free sodas, to yummy pide snacks. I ordered a Pide France, which is a nice sandwich with little pieces of bacon and melted Brie cheese.

So if you ever wanted to escape the summer heat while you are in Graz, keep in mind the great opportunity the Citybeach Graz provides, since here you find a laid-back feel, palm trees, and the river right next to you, while a great playlist of chill-out-music entertains you, ranging from samba rhythms, and French ballads, to jazz standards, mixed with the sound of the rushing river at the boardwalk. Oh, and as I figured out, there are many music events going on here during the summer months.

But see it for yourself:

The Bottom Line: The Citybeach Graz, at the Murpromenade, is a perfect spot to enjoy the summer heat in Graz and features many events and great chill-out-music.
