Auer…Martin Auer – Coffee Shop + Bakery

The Martin Auer is an elegant and cosy coffee shop + bakery fusion concept with long tradition and many coffee shops in Graz.

Here at Martin Auer at the Graz-Geidorfcenter (Körösistraße 64) you find a nice, relaxed coffee shop which has been my favorite coffee shop for years. The reason for that: it has high ceilings, its interior is light and bright with comfortable sofas/couches located in its corners, and even the chairs are comfortable to sit in for a longer stretch of time.

The lounge music playing in the background is helping you to relax even better. Below you see one of the two relaxing couch corners with also a real cow skin couch chair as you see in the front:© by Dr. Dr. Immanuel Fruhmann

The staff is very friendly and willing to help you. The coffee shop has a great bohemian chill-out atmosphere and free WiFi as well as many plugs to charge your devices.

If you want to sit in the patio to soak up the sun, there are many comfortable beach-chairs as well as sofas outside to sit in, right next to some trees.

This coffee shop is perfectly located when it comes to long hours of sunshine inside the shop as well as outside in the patio, since it has a huge glass facade and is located next to the River Mur without many houses and especially without tall houses in between the café and the river. So all year long you can enjoy long hours of sunshine due to its great light angle.

As for the pastries and desserts, you have plenty of delicious Austrian pastries and desserts to choose from, some with cheese, nut, poppy seed, marmelade, chocolate filling and topping, only to name a few:

Below you see what I took:

I had a Melange (typical Austrian coffee) with my favorite Honigreingerl (also called Kärntner Reingerl), both very delicious and a good combination by the´way. The Honigreingerl may not look spectacular from the outside but it tastes great. It is a bun with honey inside. So if you are a honey bee like me, go for it.

The only thing what could be improved at the Martin Auer is the opening hours. Since the Martin Auer coffee shop is a bakery as well, it starts early 06:30 am (weekends on 07:00 am) and closes early as well: weekdays (19:00 / 7 pm) and on Saturdays and Sundays it closes even at 18:00 (6 pm).

The Bottom Line: The Martin Auer Coffee Shop + Bakery, located in Körösistrassse 64, in 8010 Graz, is a great location, which offers real good Austrian pastries, cakes, and desserts of all kind for reasonable prices. It has plenty of sunshine all year long due to its convenient angle for the light to fall in and its location close to the River Mur with not many tall houses in between. Every time when I am in Graz I spend some hours here at Martin Auer at Geidorfcenter and I’m always having a really good time!

With Love!

Yours,
Dr. Dr. Immanuel Fruhmann
